Hola Amigas!
In honour of my 34th trip around the sun, I thought I'd share a little bit about myself & who I am outside of The Indecent Soap Co (besides obviously fucking awesome).
Let's catch up on the boring basics; My name is Khira, I'm married with 2 cats & a kid. Most of my professional life has been in hospitality & customer service. Now I make people laugh... with soap. I'm also struggling to adapt in a really fast-paced world that I was NOT prepared for. Then again, maybe that's all of us? (Click here to see my style icon)
Since I broke my ankle on New Year's Day, I've been stuck at home recovering & trying to make the most of my time. I've spent a lot of that time redoing parts of our house: painting walls, redecorating, building shit etc. The theme is "Hobbits in Florida"- I can't get much clearer than that, unfortunately. I guess we'll all be surprised by the final product! Here's a super fast sneak peek of what our disaster zone looks like!
I've also been putting a ton of effort into streamlining my life, for the benefit of my family and my own mental health. Receiving an ADHD diagnosis a few years ago was pretty life-changing, and now I'm learning how to distance myself from the person I was before. Learning how my brain works & actually finding a good medication routine has enabled me to be much more productive... and more emotionally stable. There's a great test here for adults who suspect they may be neurodivergent. I encourage anyone- especially women- who are struggling with a current DX that might not "fit" to look into alternative ND treatments. Finding out that my Depression/Bipolar/etc was actually ADHD allowed me to get on the right medication for what my brain needed and it honestly feels like I've been living a second, better life since then. My goal this year for The Indecent Soap Co is to connect with many people as possible through humour, creativity, and commerce. I'd love to eventually have a collective of artists united under the shared belief that "Indecency" is a way of life; that self-expression is paramount to societal growth & understanding. One of my favourite things is hearing people's stories- who they are, what they've experienced, what they believe in... I genuinely love the shared experience of being human and that's always been a big driving force in how I live my own life and in how I run a business.

I am so grateful for every one of you who has been with this silly soap fellowship since the beginning- y'all are the reason I get up every afternoon. Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes & treats (I'm a size L in gift cards)!
